My independent reading book is called Graceling. In it some people have 2 different colored eyes and that means you have a grace. A grace is something that you excell in extreamly and unnaturaly. The main character Kasta is graced with killing. She started traing her grace when she was 8. Now her uncle, King Randa, uses her to punish those who have wronged him. But she doesnt like it one bit. She hates her grace and hates her uncle even more. He's made her image one to fear and cower from, but she doesn't want it to be like that anymore.Then she meets Po. Another graced royalty and finds freindship in him. But when everything is put to the test it might just break. With her uncle threating to kill her, her emotions welling up like never before, and new dangerous tasks coming up she has a lot to handle, How would you handle it?

Is there anyway to change your grace? Because if there was thats what I would do, but since there probably isnt then I think I would run away so i wasnt under the control of my uncle anymore. This book sounds really good and I am excited to learn more about Po.
ReplyDeleteI agree with sophia! I would not want to have that grace at all. It makes me sad when animals or people die in movies. If I was the one killing them I dont think I could cope with the guilt of taking someone or somethings life.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a very interesting book! And I agree with both of the comments up there, it would be hard to be forced to kill people. And how did she get the grace she di, can she change it? is she allowed to say no to her uncle?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't like having that grace either if someone just used me for their own selfish wrong reasons I would probably hate them too.
