Characterization Post
The character I chose to investigate more was Montag. I thought it would be a good idea to do Montag so I could get a better picture of what the main character was like and how he thinks. So, to start off the investigation I began to visualize what Montag would look like if I ever met him. I believe that Montag would be a tall man with broad shoulders and be very muscular from being a fireman. I imagine him having dark blond hair, that's short but not buzzed. And he would have sunken cheeks, and tired eyes, with exhausted features and coarse, thick skin.
While I was looking through the book to find out more about Montag, I came across this quote that I think is the most imprtant quote said by him. "'Good-bye,' he said. He stopped and turned around. 'Does it have a happy ending?'" (Bradbury 25). I believe that this qoute shows what he really feels on the inside. Because on the outside he is rough, tough, and mean looking, but on the inside he just wants to be happy, feel relifed, and just let go. Also while looking through the book I found another quote that I think is the most important said about him. "'You always dread the unfamiliar.'" (Bradbury 62). I really like this quote said about him because it shows what he tends to do in life and his daily routie. This shows that Montag usually doesn't do anything new because he's afride of what might happen. Which really plays on later in the book, where he overcomes that and sees what's really new and out there.
